This presentation will provide an overview of Donor Advised Funds, including types of DAF programs available and the possible sponsoring organizations, data on contributions, total funding and grantmaking, and the statutory and regulatory framework for DAFs. It will include discussion of donor advisor privileges and succession planning and provide case studies of issues arising in the administration of DAFs. The panelists will include a discussion of comparisons to private foundations and conversion of private foundations to DAFs. Investment considerations will also be discussed, including contribution of complex assets. It will close with a discussion of possible legislative and regulatory developments in the future and the overall place DAFs will have in this country’s philanthropy.

CEPC will compile a listing of all the organizations’ descriptions and email a copy to CEPC members. Deadline for email descriptions is due by Friday, October 16th. The non-profit guests are invited to attend both the CEPC Luncheon Program and the October 27th Annual Networking and Giving Day Breakfast at the member rate.
